For me, the painting process is about learning to see, and exploring the relationships that create space, light and gesture. Whether it is a still life, a landscape, or a figure, I am drawn to capturing the space and energy created by these relationships, while sharing my perspective through composition, and expressing my energy with the abstract application of paint on the canvas.

I like to walk into a dynamic and sometimes chaotic environment and capture a composition with gesture, space and light. The land, the sea, the city streets. A party, a crowd, a person.

I also like to zone into the beauty brought to a quiet space by some fruit, a flower, a person. Where intimacy is revealed by both the subject and myself.
